One of the many problems that come with today’s busy lifestyle is getting a good night’s sleep. Based on a recent survey, more than 25per cent of the population are very concerned about a lack of quality sleep, which often leads to depression, obesity, dementia and other chronic medical conditions.
This is one problem that smart home automation can help solve. Smart lighting, in particular, is seen as a major influence on sleep as hue of lighting plays a role in maintaining your circadian rhythm. Warmer colored light helps you prepare for sleep while cooler colored lights help you wake up in the morning.
A comfortable temperature is also important to get a good night sleep. Smart thermostats can be automated so they will be automatically adjusted based on the time of day (or night) and outside temperature. This can be further complemented by a smart bed that automatically adjusts its temperature based on the climate. On a hot summer night, such beds automatically turn nice and cool but stay warm during winters. Also, you can drown outside noise with an audio system that plays white noise, ocean sounds or some other soothing sounds that can help you sleep faster.
