Sixth Apprentice fired
Latest contestant leaves the competition...
11:01 11 November 2010
Unemployed head of communications Alex Epstein has become the sixth person to be fired from the BBC One reality show, The Apprentice.
Epstein faced the wrath of Lord Sugar and was brought back into the boardroom after his team failed this week's task.
Lord Sugar challenged contestants to come up with a new brand of cleaning product. The task also involved masterminding a TV and radio advertising campaign for the cleaner and a design for the bottle.
Team Apollo, lead by Epstein, came up with the Germ-O-Nator and Synergy presented Octi-Klean.
Both teams were criticised for their bad performances in this particular task, but Apollo lost overall for a poorly designed bottle and an advert which featured a child using the cleaner.
Epstein chose to bring Chris and Sandeesh back into the boardroom; a plan which backfired when Lord Sugar fired him. Lord Sugar also hinted that Alex may have remained in the competition if he had chosen team mate Laura to come back instead.
Catch The Apprentice Wednesday nights at 9pm on BBC One.
