Singer Sinead OÂ’Connor has married her boyfriend of just three months in a ceremony in Las Vegas.

The Nothing Compares 2 U singer met Barry Herridge, after she announced on her blog that she was "sex-starved" and requested possible suitors to apply.

Herridge emailed her and proposed on every date they had until she agreed to marry him.

The wedding took place on her 45th birthday at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, which has seen several celebrity weddings over the years, including that of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.

The whirlwind ceremony was announced by Sinead on her blog this week, telling her fans on 7 December:

"With enormous joy myself and my beloved boyfriend Barry Herridge will be getting married tomorrow, 8 December at 'an un-disclosed location' in my absolute dream wedding ceremony."

The Irish couple appear smitten in photos that appeared following the wedding. The 90s star can be seen sporting a shaved head in the pictures, just like in the iconic video for Nothing Compares 2 U.

She wore a girly pastel pink maxi dress which showed off her tattoos, an unusual choice for the controversial tomboy singer-songwriter.

Sinead took to her blog again after the ceremony to post a picture her and her new husband, declaring that she is a "very happy girl".
