Shetland Islands Council Uploads Meeting to YouTube

Shetland Islands Council will continue to publish full council meetings, it has been confirmed.

Shetland Islands Council's full recording of Monday's session has been published on YouTube. This marks the first time the council has taken a step to make recordings of council meetings available online. Monday's session was held in the Lerwick Town Council and attended by a small number of councillors with other officials joining virtually from their respective houses. 

 

The session focused on the appointment of new members of the planning committee and integrated joint board. The councillors also discussed the new grant scheme to distribute funding received from the Crown Estate.

 

The council made the announcement that it will start publishing its meetings on YouTube after its main committees discovered that the required technology is readily available.
