The moment Shelly fans have been dreading is nearly upon us as Coronation Street's biggest love rat does the dirty on Sally Lindsay's character.

Irritated by Shelly's knockbacks in the bedroom, two-faced Charlie, played by Bill Ward, seeks to vent his frustration by seducing barmaid Violet, played by Jenny Platt.

And the cheating pair even share a passionate clinch in the Rovers Return while Charlie's unsuspecting girlfriend continues to go even further out of her mind just upstairs.

A Corrie insider said: "Charlie has been getting more and more frustrated with Shelley, particularly after she spurned his advances in the bedroom because she has become so insecure about her looks.

"Things come to a head when he has a late night drink in the pub with Violet after closing time. They open a bottle of spirits and the sexual chemistry between them is obvious."

Will Shelley find out? How will she react? Who knows?! But one thing known for sure is that things are set to get very, very heated on Monday night.
