'She's obsessed with me'
Madonna's latest snipe against Lady Gaga...
09:46 08 September 2011
It seems the truce is over between Madonna and Lady Gaga, with the Queen of Pop accusing the Bad Romance singer of being "obsessed" with her.
Madonna, who is currently promoting her latest film W.E., let loose about the eccentric star at this year's Venice Film Festival, telling Belgian newspaper LeSoir:
"As for Lady Gaga, I have no comment on her obsessions related to me because I do not know if it is based on something profound or superficial."
Tensions have been riding high between the pair ever since a comparison was made between Gaga's Born this Way and the 53-year-old's hit, Express Yourself.
Gaga herself doesn't see the similarity, fuming "what a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about" when questioned.
"If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression. ItÂ’s the same one thatÂ’s been in disco music for the last 50 years.
"Just because I’m the first f***ing artist in 25 years to think of putting it on top 40 radio, it doesn’t mean I’m a plagiarist – it means that I’m f***ing smart."
This isn't the first time this week Madonna has been less than complementary.
Madge was also caught on camera at the festival, muttering under her breath about some flowers which were handed to her.
Smiling, the diva accepted the bunch from the fan, before saying:
"I absolutely loathe hydrangeas. He obviously doesn't know that."
