Green Cat Technologies have recently patented a design and technology for a luxury folding caravan. It could be a dream come true for people who want to live off-grid using green technologies and smart design that makes self-sufficient living possible.
sCarabane, which looks like a futuristic trailer, becomes a spacious 420sq ft house once unfolded. Featuring two bedrooms, its layout is perfect for a small family. It also has a bathroom with a shower, separate toilet, and washing machine. Its two bedrooms have full-size doors that lead outside. It also boasts a 140sq ft deck and cutting-edge eco credentials.
Its parabolic mirror has been designed to determine the best direction for sunlight while its solar reception effectively converts solar energy into thermal energy to heat water. The trailer rotates 360 degrees, allowing it to follow the sun.
Its retractable telescopic vertical axis wind turbine can generate as much as 500 watts of electricity, with further 500 watts of renewable power produced by solar cells. French company Green Cat Technologies is also looking into ways to collect and filter rainwater as well as power the kitchen stove without using propane.
