Scottish Borders CCTV No Value for Money
Scottish Borders' new CCTV systems would not provide value for money, council report states.

Scottish Borders Council had agreed to withdraw funding and its current position is not to install new CCTV cameras or replace systems that are no longer working.
A recent report released by council officers support the move saying that there is no budget for such work.
Earlier this year, the council was asked to agree to shut down the system once all CCTV cameras are beyond economic repair.
It then prompted calls to look again at revitalising the system and to carry out and outline a possible timescale for consultation.
The council is expected to either approve the preparation of a second report outlining the costs by the end of this year or decide to take no further action.
