Scotland Tech Sector Growing
Scotland tech sector one of the biggest in the country outside London and the South East.

A recent research released by Tech Nation shows that Scotland's tech sector is now one of the strongest in the country outside the South East and London. The new data, which was released ahead of the London Tech Week, reveals that there were more than 69,000 job openings in the tech sector in Glasgow and Edinburgh in 2019.
Scotland tech sector has been showing signs of recovery following the Covid-19 lockdown. In recent weeks, hundreds of jobs have been created with Amazon leading the way by creating hundreds of new roles in Fife and Dundee.
UK Government Minister for Scotland Iain Steward said: "It is fantastic to see our multi-billion pound digital tech sector not only continue to thrive but make a vital contribution to economic recovery as we emerge from the coronavirus pandemic. This report shows Scotland is a competitive choice for both companies and individuals creating high-quality, well-paid jobs."

This government is backing people to succeed by investing heavily in cutting-edge research, digital skills and digital infrastructure to support our economic recovery."
