Samsung Introduces SmartThings Energy
Samsung releases SmartThings Energy, a new service that gives users more control over energy use in their smart homes.

Samsung has recently unveiled its new service designed to allow users to effectively and easily monitor, track and save money on energy usage.
Samsung SmartThings is the newest addition to the SmartThings app, which provides comprehensive, real-time data and analysis for a home's energy consumption. It is designed specifically to help users check their electricity usage from a single device or aggregated usage from multiple compatible devices.
Chanwoo Park, vice president and head of IoT business group at Samsung Electronics, said: “People are spending more time at home and using their appliances more frequently, driving a need for larger capacity and better energy efficiency. Our consumers want to be part of building a better, more eco-friendly tomorrow, and we are proud to help them achieve that vision by offering a more energy-efficient smart home experience.”
SmartThings is a home automation company that uses an IoT platform compatible with thousands of devices across hundreds of brands. The company is a Samsung subsidiary since 2014.
SmartThings Energy is the latest addition to the family of SmartThings services, joining SmartThings Cooking and SmartThings Clothing Care.
