Salford WiFi Kiosks
InLink digital WiFi kiosks that offer free WiFi services and phone calls are coming to Salford.

Telecoms provider BT has submitted a number of applications to Salford planning committee with the goal to replace traditional phone boxes with InLink kiosks. The kiosks will offer passers by free WiFi service, phone charging and UK landline and mobile calls. If approved, one kiosk will be installed outside the Alchemist bar in Salford Quays while the second unit will be placed outside Caffe Nero on New Bailey Street. The Crescent railway station will also get one.
The units, which will be paid through advertisements that will be shown on digital LED screens on the side of each unit, also have ‘built-in video cameras.’
In a statement, BT said: “Each InLink will replace two BT payphones, so the current number of applications submitted in Salford represents the removal of 18 BT payphones in the city,”
These boxes are already in use in Glasgow, Leeds, and London.
