Sainsbury's & Asda Virtual Queues
Sainsbury's and Asda now using virtual queues so shoppers will not have to line up outside.

Asda and Sainsbury's have introduced virtual queue apps so shoppers will no longer have to wait outside for their turn. The move comes as the weather is getting colder and as people stock up for Christmas.
Shoppers at Sainsbury's are encouraged to download the app so they can virtually add themselves to the queue at their favourite branch. They will receive a notification when they are at the front of the line and can head straight in.
The app, which is currently being used at 55 Sainsbury's stores, was piloted in July and is now being tried in more stores. Meanwhile, about 50 Asda stores are using a virtual queue run by Qudini, which allows customers to log on using an app by scanning a QR code or sending a text.
Three John Lewis stores are currently using the same technology. Meanwhile, M&S's version allows customers to book a 30-minute slot to shop at one of 577 standalone Food Halls and branches.
