O
Odd Bet
An outside bet that consists of placing a wager on all odd numbers found on the wheel, apart from the zero(s) at play. To place this bet, you’ll need to place a betting chip(s) inside the box marked ‘odd’ on the table layout. This bet type is also known as an even money bet, with payout odds of 1:1.
Odds
This describes the likelihood of the bet winning. You normally see the betting odds when playing online within the help or terms and conditions section.
Outside Bets
When looking at the Roulette table layout, you’ll see boxes filled with numbers, colours and words around the numbered grid. Any bet placed using any of these boxes is classed as an outside bet.
Many outside bets, such as a red bet, odd bet, and high bet are also known as even money bets and carry a 1:1 payout, but this isn’t the case for all outside bets you can place with a game of Roulette.
P
Pair
A French term used to describe an even bet. An even bet is an outside bet type, which allows players to place a single wager on all numbers that are even, as opposed to those that are odd. An even bet is also an even money bet as it has 1:1 payout odds.
Q
Quarters
A term used to describe a betting chip with a value of 25 credits. The chip is usually found to be green, but this could differ depending on where you play.
R
Red Bet
An outside bet that covers all red sections on the wheel with a single wager. To place a red bet, you’ll need to place a betting chip(s) in the box that is either coloured entirely red or states ‘red’ in letters. If any number that wins the game is within a red compartment on the wheel, any player that has bet ‘red’ wins. This is also known as an even money bet with payout odds of 1:1.
Reds
A term given to casino betting chips that are usually worth a value of five credits.
Rouge
A French term used to describe a red bet. See ‘Red Bet’ for more details.
