Rotherham Invest in CCTV
Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council to invest in 21 CCTV cameras to tackle anti-social issues.
21:30 23 August 2018
Council bosses have confirmed that they are set to procure 21 additional CCTV cameras to improve efforts against anti-social behaviour. They will allot one camera per ward as part of their £60,000 budget for 2018-2019.
Cllr Emma Hoddinott, cabinet member for community safety, said: “We know anti-social behaviour is a big issue for people.
“There are a variety of tools and powers that are being used and mobile CCTV cameras are just one of those tools.
“They have been used in the past but it’s fair to say that it has been patchy across the borough.”
Councillors will decide where to put the cameras and residents will be notified.
