Richmond CCTV Cameras
CCTV at Richmond falls to be switched on by end of month.

CCTV cameras that were previously installed at Richmond Falls following reports of anti-social behaviour will be turned on this month, the local government has confirmed.
Richmondshire District Council has installed two close circuit television cameras at the Richmond beauty spot following reports of incidents involving alcohol and drug use over the May bank holidays. Another measure that will be implemented will involve the creation of a public spaces protection order that will prohibit visitors from taking drugs, drinking alcohol and cooking food in the area.
Councillor Helen Grant, deputy leader of Richmondshire District Council and spokesperson for community safety, said: "We are determined to protect this area from the recent abuse and anti-social behaviour."
"A minority have been spoiling it for the majority and we will not tolerate this. We are looking to ban alcohol and the cooking of food - and the deployment of cameras will record activity there. This beauty spot should be there for the enjoyment of everyone and not be spoiled by a small number of people."
