iOpt wins £1million contract to install IOT monitors in Renfrewshire Council's social housing.

Renfrewshire Council has partnered with iOpt, a company that specialises in monitoring property portfolios through modern technology, for the installation of internet of things (IoT) in its social housing. 

 

The £1million contract will see iOpt install sensors for temperatures, humidity and Co2 levels in over 2,400 homes over the next four years. The sensors will gather information and feed the data management system to provide the council alerts on issues such as ventilation problems and damp. 

 

The scheme is believed to be the first partnership of its kind involving a contractual agreement between a local authority and an IoT provider for the supply of remote asset monitoring assets. The two-year project, which will commence once lockdown restriction eases, will target 1,100 homes in the first two years.
