It has been 20 years since the freedom fighter Nelson Mandela was released from prison.

Incarcerated for decades for leading the resistance campaign against the South Africa government, his reputation grew and he became the most significant black leader in South Africa, eventually bringing about the end of apartheid and legalised racial segregation.

Four years after his release he was voted as the country's first black president and went on to receive over 250 awards for his work. But how much do you know about the legend that lead the transition towards a multi-racial democracy in South Africa?
