Public Can Tour BBC Wales HQ for First Time
BBC Wales HQ is now open for tours.
12:30 21 July 2022
BBC Cymru Wales' new headquarters opens its door to the public for the first time. This gives visitors the opportunity to see how the home of BBC Wales Today, Newyddion S4C and national radio studios work first-hand.
Speaking at the Urdd National Eisteddfod in Denbigh, BBC Cymru Wales director Rhuanedd Richards said: "Giving our audiences the chance to see where and how some of their favourite programmes are produced and broadcast was always part of the vision for Central Square."
Youngsters currently living at the Urdd's Y Gwersyll in Cardiff Bay will be among the first to visit the broadcast centre as part of their programme of events. They will be invited to hone their broadcasting skills, including weather presenting, sports commentary and auto-cut skills during their visit.
BBC Cymru Wales was based in Llandaff for more than 50 years before moving to the city centre.
