Project Management in a PRINE2 context

Project management is the planning and coordination of a combined group of people, resources, and techniques and are distinguished by such characteristics as setting a time line for the accomplishment of a project's objectives, and the use of appropriate resources in all phases of the project. The manager, or the group of managers working together with a central leader in order to plan, coordinate, and implement resources required for the project or program, may consist of one individual or as a work-force consisting of people who choose their own level of commitment to the project at its beginning and work together until its completion. According to Project Management best practices (for example PRINCE), a project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create, implement, or accomplish a specific project-related task or goal. The aim of a project is the accomplishment of objectives that meet specific needs of an organization. Conversely, the aim of PRINCE is the accomplishment of specific objectives and meet the organization's project-specific needs or requirements.
One of the best ways of facilitating good project management is to build a strong support from both the project team and the stakeholders (including clients/customers). Methods to ensure this include ensuring that the project is a priority if set; understanding the dialogue resistance among members of the team, establishing clear accountability, and establishing a plan of action after defining responsibilities, assigning tasks, and determining the scope.

* An effective schedule and an effective timeline to communicate to managers.
* A timeline for internal projects.
* A process for evaluation of a project.
* A method to measure success in a review of the process.
