Presenter to 'take a break'
BBC star questioned about private life...
09:25 20 April 2011
Presenter Rav Wilding has reportedly been told by the BBC to take some time off, following reports in the media about his private life.
According to The Mirror, the Crimewatch host, 33, was called in by bosses after pictures emerged showing him arguing with his girlfriend of four months, Chantelle Houghton.
Ex-policeman Rav later confirmed that his relationship with the 27-year-old Big Brother star was over, writing on his Twitter page:
"Wanted to clarify situation after speculation 2day. Sadly Chantelle and I are no longer in a relationship as IÂ’ve had to draw a line under it [sic].
"The relationship wasn't what I wanted so badly and wasn't the genuine thing I thought it was."
The newspaper claims that Wilding has been told to "go on holiday" to sort things out, with a source clarifying:
"For many executives, Crimewatch is the BBC's flagship serious show, so they weren't thrilled with his choice of girlfriend.
"Bosses were even less impressed when they started doing Mills & Boon-esque glossy magazine shoots, declaring their love - hardly in keeping with the Crimewatch ethos."
Chantelle, who divorced from her ex-husband Preston in 2007, was pictured in tears after a row with Wilding in London's Richmond Park at the weekend.
She had previously spoken about her relationship with Rav, saying:
"We have little rows - Rav finds it really hard that I've been married before."
