Natalie Portman hates shopping in London - because it's too expensive.
The beauty - who was in England's capital for the premiere of her latest movie, 'V For Vendetta' - finds UK stores too pricey... even for a millionaire like her.
She told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "London's not the best place to shop. Us poor Americans can't afford it."
The brunette star - who turned up at the lavish event last night (08.03.06) flanked by two men wearing Guy Fawkes-style masks - also revealed she isn't interested in soaking up London's nightlife.
She confessed: "I don't go out when I'm working because I can't really keep it together.
"I'm more interested in seeing movies in my spare time."
The 24-year-old, who plays a bald-headed freedom fighter in the new film, also took a swipe at English food, although she confessed it has got better since her last visit to the UK.
She said: "The food in England has improved."
