Kent police confirmed that they were investigating the "non-suspicious but unexplained sudden death" of TV presenter, newspaper columnist and fashion star Peaches Geldof.
Kent Police said: "Police were called at 1.35pm on April 7, 2014 to an address near Wrotham following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman.
"A woman aged 25 was pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service.
"The death is being treated as a non-suspicious, but unexplained, sudden death. The local coroner has been informed and a post-mortem is expected to be carried out in the next few days."
Confirming her death, her father released a brief statement: "We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.
"Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever."
Meanwhile her ex-publicist Ray Levine made one of the first tributes. Quoted by the BBC, Levine said: "I'll always smile, because she was a very endearing, charming young lady."
Peaches' husband and father of her two young sons, rock musician Thomas Cohen, also issued a statement saying: "My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons ... I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts every day. We shall love her forever."
The family has a tragic past. When Peaches was 11, she and her two sisters, Pixie and Fifi Trixibelle, her mother - television presenter Paula Yates - died of a heroin overdose aged 41.
Yates and Live Aid organiser Bob Geldof had been married from 1986 and 1996 but Yates left him for Australian rock star Michael Hutchence, who committed suicide in 1997. Yates would die just three years later.
Peaches' last Twitter post was a picture of herself and her mother.
