A 20-metre slim 5G mast could be built next to a university in Bath if Three's application is approved.
Application documents show that Locksbrook Road, which is opposite the Bath Spa University Campus, has been chosen as the location for the 5G mast.
Residents have previously raised their concerns after a similar proposal for a 5G mast in Charlcombe Lane was submitted to the local councils. 343 residents objected to the scheme and the application was rejected by council members.
Locals have also opposed installing a 5G mast on the greenbelt with Councillor Sarah Warren saying that more research into the technology is required.
In a planning statement for the scheme on Locksbrook Road, CK Hutchison Networks said: "In these unprecedented times of the Covid19 pandemic, it is recognised that high-speed mobile connectivity is the lifeblood of a community".
The company said that the scheme could benefit education, businesses, home-working and access to leisure activities like gaming.
