Phones Store Travel History
iOS and Android handsets have been keeping a comprehensive list of the places you’ve been.

Mobile phones have been listing the places their owners are going and keeping a record of all the information, which can be very useful in reminding travellers where exactly they’ve been and when they went on a certain trip.
Google’s Timeline page shows a map of everywhere you’ve been with your phone – grouped into trips and dates. The page, which can be turned off/on or paused, has various location-aware tools that can inform the users on the things that are happening nearby. The information can also be used to understand what users are typically doing. For instance, it will be able to tell if you tend to drive home at a certain time each day and can make traffic suggestions for your convenience.
Android users have this feature built-in on their phones while iOS users need the Google App to track their location and send it to Google while it sits in the background. Users have the option to turn off location information and delete all or some of the information stored.
To turn it off, go to your Google account and switch off the “Location History” and the changes will be applied to all devices that have been tracking you. The same thing can be accomplished with iPhones.
