Philips Hue Outdoor Sensor, which was featured during CES 2019, is the first and only HomeKit-enabled outdoor motion sensor. Featuring a matte black exterior with a bulbous sphere in the centre, it has been purposely designed to blend with a lot of exteriors. It offers a number of options for mounting to fit a variety of surfaces and make it more difficult for it to be snatched off the wall.

 

The sensor offers an easy-set up feature using the Philips Hue app. The app will walk you through the process of pairing the device with the app and creating the different lighting rules. It will also allow you to customise the motion sensitivity to control what will and won’t trigger the sensor. As this supports Apple HomeKit, you can use your Home app to see a light measurement, a temperature reading and the motion status.

 

The Philips Hue Outdoor Sensor is now available on Amazon for $49.99 with Prime shipping or from Philips directly at MeetHue.com. It works with any HomeKit switches, lights and outlets. However, you will need to purchase the Philips Hue Bridge to make it work.
