PBX Hackers
The TelEm Group warns against 'unscrupulous hackers' who are breaking into company PBX systems.

On Thursday, the TelEm Group has issued a press release warning against PBX hackers around the world who are scanning for PBX systems 24/7. Hackers mine the information from PBX systems they are able to hack and re-sell to third parties or use the details to make international calls. In many cases, businesses are only made aware of the hacking and fraud after several weeks when they receive their bill.
The TelEm Group has re-released its “Protect Yourself” brochure to educate businesses how they can best protect themselves against PBX hackers and fraudsters.
“We are very keen to remind our business customers of the need to protect their businesses from PBX fraud by making themselves and their personnel aware of the dangers out there and some of the simple steps they can take to protect themselves,” said TelEm Group, Manager of Marketing and Sales Grisha Marten.
“The brochure is packed with useful information that anyone can use, but businesses that are still concerned can call tel. 546-0100 to make an appointment to talk about that concern or they can use the same number to just get further information,” Marten said.
