Paul Daniels has sensationally claimed that he is this yearÂ’s Strictly Come Dancing sex symbol.
The 72-year-old magician, whose fellow Strictly contestants include rugby hunk Gavin Henson, racy Patsy Kensit and ex-soap star Kara Tointon, claims to have had an illustrious sex life prior to marrying wife Debbie McGee.
Speaking to Radio Times, Daniels complained that his dance partner, Ola, was constantly being watched by her husband James Jordan and claimed: “He knows she’s in the presence of a sex symbol and he’s worried.”
The disillusioned magician has been praised by Ola, who said: “My prediction is the final, definitely. I am very confident.”
Daniels has reportedly been putting in extra practise by learning moves from Len Goodman via the internet.
The new Strictly Come Dancing series is set to be a battle of the sex symbols, with Destiny's Child star Michelle Williams, ex-Corrie star Tina O'Brien, Blue Peter's Matt Baker and actor Jimi Mistry.
Whilst Henson has seemingly been given support for the contest by his now ex Charlotte Church, former judge Arlene Phillips has already hit out at the appointment of Ann Widecombe in the line-up, saying it's a "step too far".
She has criticised the ex-Home Secretary for looking as though she "eats too many bagels".
Strictly returns Friday 1 October at 9pm.
