Blonde bombshell Patsy Kensit has signed a 120,000 deal to stay in Emmerdale for another year.

Amid rumours that she was looking at other roles, the new deal has ensured that the actress will stay on to play evil Sadie King until December 2005.

"Producers are delighted that Patsy has signed for at least another year," an insider at the soap told the Sun.

"They think her character Sadie has made a strong impact because viewers love to hate her.

"Emmerdale chiefs want more glamour in the Dales so were determined to keep Patsy on."

The 36-year-old, who starred with Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon 2, has found it hard working in Leeds and leaving her sons James and Lennon with a nanny at her home in London.

But Patsy, who used to be married to Oasis singer Liam Gallagher, recently spoke of how she enjoyed the show.

"I've worked with Mel Gibson and I really do think Emmerdale is better," she said.
