Passenger Spaceship To Be Launched By Amazon

Amazon’s billionaire founder Jeff Bezos will launch a spaceship this year that could one day take passengers into Earth’s orbit.

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is set to launch a spaceship later this year. The liquid oxygen fuelled rocket will be attached to a main capsule for the maiden voyage. The rocket engine, which will power the New Shepard craft, has been thoroughly tested and is said to be ready to go. Should the maiden voyage become successful, the spaceship could be used to take passengers into Earth’s orbit. However, it is likely to begin flying commercial after 10 years. 

 

Meanwhile, Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo will resume test flights following a fatal accident in California in 2014.
