Part of UK to Receive Gigabit Broadband
BT launches own Gigabit services.
05:40 12 March 2020
BT is following the footstep of Virgin, which rolled out Gigabit internet to various parts of the United Kingdom starting in 2018. BT’s own Gigabit service is now scheduled to be launched and the firm promises that it will be “the UK’s fastest home broadband provider in more place than any other.”
BT confirms that the service will be initially available in over two million households in hundreds of UK cities, towns and villages, including Cardiff, Leeds, Briston, Belfast, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, and London.
The firm is yet to release any information on pricing but says the plan has been designed to “future proof” the home connection ready for the future of high bandwidth services and connected devices.
