Sarah Jessica Parker now has twin girls thanks to a surrogate mother who has given birth.

The 'Sex and the City' actress and her husband Matthew Broderick, have named the two girls Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge.

The couple have said in a statement: "The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon."

It is thought that Parker and Broderick were present at the Ohio hospital when the surrogate mother gave birth.

The couple already have a six-year-old son named James Wilkie.

Parker is currently filming romantic comedy 'Did You Hear About the Morgans?' in which she stars alongside Hugh Grant.

The movie version of ‘Sex and the City’, in which Parker reprised her role as Carrie Bradshaw, took a staggering £250 million at the box office in 2008.

She is due to begin filming the sequel later this year.
