Due to tough economic conditions, more and more people who are 50 years old and above are now opting to take road trips in order to save from expensive airfare when on holiday. If you’re thinking about joining the bandwagon, you’ll be happy to know that this type of trip is also enjoyable and enriching.
Aside from packing your bags and making sure that you bring all the things that you’re going to need to have an enjoyable and comfortable road trip, you also need to ensure that you are properly covered.
Check the date when your current car insurance will expire. If it will end while you are away, make proper arrangement with your broker so it will be renewed as soon as your old one expires.
Although most car insurance companies will cover road trips, it is still recommended that you inform them about it before you go to avoid unpleasant surprises.
Lastly, if you’re driving abroad, check if your insurance includes European driving cover.
