Sharon Osbourne has revealed how no-one expected her marriage to former Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy to last.

The X Factor judge said that all Ozzy's friends thought he would end up with someone as crazy and wild as he was and couldn't believe it when he settled down with her.

Sharon and Ozzy have now been married 23 years and have three children, but the 52-year-old mum said it looked far from a match made in heaven at the start.

"I've certainly never been a rock chick - I wasn't into that whole leather trouser look," she told the Independent.

"When Ozzy and I first got together people said 'It won't last'. They expected him to be with some blonde, not with someone who looked like me."

She was always into "silk dresses and pearls", Sharon admitted, adding: "I didn't want to be one of those mums who turn up at the schoolyard covered in tattoos."

In the end, Sharon's life ended up being rather more rock than roll as a series of disasters hit the family, many of them documented on their MTV show, The Osbournes.

Two of her children, Kelly and Jack, have been treated for drug and alcohol problems, while her oldest daughter Aimee recently had surgery on her breast after a cancer scare.

And the couple themselves have had their share of bad luck - they were burgled, their house caught fire, Ozzy almost died in a quad bike accident and Sharon had a cancer scare.
