Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 mysteriously vanished two months ago with 239 people aboard. Due to lack of information or strong leads as to what happened to the aircraft, numerous outlandish theories are now being considered. One of them that has become a fixture of American theorists is the involvement of otherworldly aliens.
According to a new poll by American news broadcaster CNN, one in 10 Americans are convinced that aliens or “beings from another dimension” represent the reason why the plane disappeared.
However, 42per cent said they believe that the plane could have been hijacked. 69per cent believe that the search should continue.
Meanwhile, 51per cent of Americans said that they believe that the plane had gone down in the Indian Ocean, where the search has focused. 46per cent believe it is somewhere else while 79per cent believe no one on the plane survived.
The plane vanished on March 8 and despite intense searches, solid evidence is yet to be found.
