October security update released

Microsoft has issued 13 new security updates as part of its monthly patch distribution.
The updates fix issues with the following programs:
- Microsoft Windows
- Windows Media
- Internet Information Services (IIS)
- Internet Explorer
- Indexing Service
- Microsoft Office
- Microsoft .NET
The update fixes 13 flaws, eight of which are listed as 'critical', the most urgent that the company provides. It also addresses another five flaws listed as 'important', the second most urgent.
They fix weaknesses in the programs that if
exploited could allow somebody to take control of the applications to
alter and delete data.
The patches solve problems that can affect both PC users and Mac users.
All Windows users, including those with Vista, are urged to apply the update immediately by clicking on the provided link.
This will enable you to download critical component updates, service packs, security fixes, patches and free upgrades to selected Windows components.
