Objections to 5G Masts in Stafford
Councillors and residents object to the installation of 19m 5G mast in Stafford borough.

Despite objections from residents and concerns from councillors, the installation of two 19-metre tall 5G masts in Stafford will push through. The council's approval will see a new mast installed in Gnosall while a 17.5m mast at a bus stop in Cannock Road will be replaced.
Stafford Borough Council's planning committee granted the permission on September 2 by eight votes to one.
Councillor Ray Barron said that the proposed locations for the 5G masts were unsuitable as they are next to public footpath and bus stop.
He added: "This planning application is the fourth in recent years. These masts are getting higher and wider - there has been an increase from 15m to 17m and now it's higher still at 19m, with more ancillary cabinets round supporting six antennas.
"It's right on the grass verge by the bus stop and footpath - surely these masts could be found a more secluded and secure location?
"The mast will be nearly 1m in circumference - if any vehicle hit this mast its owners would be seriously injured or these could be a fatality. I'm asking the committee to refuse the application on safety, environmental and visual impact."
