Barack Obama has revealed the inside of his iPod and many may be surprised to discover his love of rap music – along with classics like Bob Dylan and Rolling Stones.
The President, 49, explained that his musical influences date back to his childhood in which he was brought up on R&B, John Coltrane and Miles Davis.
His knowledge of modern day music, however, cannot be underestimated with him stating: “Jay-Z used to be sort of what predominated, but now I’ve got a little Nas and a little Lil Wayne.”
Daughters Malia, 12, and Sasha, nine, approve of his current playlist but are keen to discover his older music too.
“They are now getting old enough to start hipping me to things. My iPod now has about 2,000 songs and it is a source of great pleasure.”
The Beatles and Stevie Wonder are also prominent within his tracklist.
