A pensioner has won over X Factor judge Simon Cowell and softened the usually spiteful-tongued music mogul with a rendition of the classic tune, As Time Goes By.
Dorothy Morrison, 83, wowed the judge of the reality TV talent show while clinging to a shopping trolley, the Daily Mirror reports.
It seems that the groovy grannys singing may be better than her eyesight, with X Factor presenter Kate Thornton having to point out Cowell and his fellow judges Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh to the poor-sighted OAP.
Describing cruel Cowell as her "hero", the pensioners song impressed him so much that he has put her through to the next round of auditions.
"You are a saucy little thing aren't you?" Cowell exclaimed when the OAP from Hyde in Cheshire had finished her performance.
A delighted Dorothy left the auditions chanting: "I am through! I am through!"
