Number One for One Direction
One Direction’s album, Midnight Memories, has topped this week’s UK chart.

Boy band One Direction has released their third album entitled Midnight Memories, which sold 237,000 copies in its first week making it UK’s fastest-selling album for two years. It also topped this week’s UK album chart. Meanwhile, the number two spot was given to Gary Barlow for his first full solo album entitled Since I Saw You Last. It sold 116,000 copies in its first week pushing down Take That bandmate Robbie Williams’ down to the third place.
Official Charts Company chief executive Martin Talbot said: "The success really does send a signal that the festive season is almost with us - and means 1D are now real contenders to claim the biggest album of the year."
One Direction also has three tracks in the top 40 for this week’s singles chart. Their song, Story of My Life is currently at number 3. Meanwhile, Gary Barlow’s Let Me Go is at number 2 while Lily Allen’s cover of Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know is in fourth place.
