North Yorkshire Libraries Support Safer Internet Day.
North Yorkshire libraries have supported Safer Internet Day 2018, which was celebrated globally on Tuesday 6 February.

The country’s libraries help people develop their digital skills, whether for health, job hunting or seeking useful financial information. They also help users to stay safe online.
County Councillor Greg White, Executive Member for Libraries, said: “We live in an age when increasingly if we want to access information, keep in touch with friends or take advantage of a whole range of benefits, we are doing it online. Our children might be more adept with technology than their parents, but they need to protect themselves and to be safe online. It’s important that whatever we do on the internet is positive and safe.”
Throughout February, the County Council’s Adult Learning and Skills Service will host free safer internet workshop. Other events include one-on-one advice on staying safe online (Knaresborough Wednesday 9.30am to 11am).
