Norfolk County Council to Stream Meetings
Norfolk County Council meetings could soon be live streamed on the Internet.
12:39 17 April 2018
Labour councilor David Rowntree wants Norfolk County Council meetings to be live streamed on the Internet to provide easy public access. He also proposed making audio recordings of council committee meeting that can be made available to the public on request.
His motion says: “With the expansion of reliable broadband links it is now appropriate to live stream full council meetings and to improve public access to proceedings.”
If granted, council meetings will be broadcasted over a live web stream starting in May.
Mr Rowntree’s motion, which has been seconded by fellow Labour councilor Jess Barnard, will be discussed by councillors at full on Monday.
