Norfolk Council Streaming Rejected

Proposals to broadcast Norfolk county council meetings rejected by Councillors.

Forty five councillors have rejected Labour Councillor Dave Rowntree’s motion to live stream council meetings starting this May.

 

The motion was debated at length with Conservative members saying that they are in favour of streaming but not in the form Mr Rowntree proposed. Meanwhile, leader Cliff Jordan said that that the matter had already been raised by the cabinet system working group and is thus best addressed at a later date.

 

Conservative Councillor Brian Long said that although he supports the idea, it would require more advanced technology to put it in place.
