Nokia releases a device that tracks your sleep duration, interruptions and sleep quality.
21:42 22 January 2018
Nokia has recently released a new device designed to track your sleep and provide you with data about what you get up to while unconscious. Called Nokia Sleep, it tracks your sleep duration, interruptions and sleep quality. The sleep pad sits under the mattress and integrates with IFTTT, allowing users to automate their smart home to operate in tandem with the user’s rest periods.
A similar device was produced by Withings, a company that Nokia bought in 2016. Called the Aura, the device was a combination of a lamp and bed sensor that worked in tandem to help users get better sleep. It is designed to blast red light to help the user doze off in the evenings and whiter and bluer shades the following morning. Aura has a number of strengths, one of which is that it was designed to be integrated with Nest. This means that it turns off the home’s heating when the user is asleep under a comforter.
Nokia is pushing out the sleep pad in the next few months, priced at £99.95.
