12:25 27 July 2015
An 18-year-old has died after a house party where he is believed to have been drinking alcohol and using nitrous oxide, also known as “Laughing Gas.”
On Saturday, emergency services were called to the scene in Bexleyheath, southeast London, where the victim suffered cardiac arrest. He was taken to hospital after collapsing in the street but died two hours later.
The Metropolitan Police said: "Next of kin have been notified. A post-mortem will be scheduled in due course.
"At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained pending the findings of the post-mortem."
Research confirms that 8per cent of 16-24-year-olds in England use nitrous oxide, a legal high that is inked to loss of blood pressure, fainting and even heart attacks.
