Nissan Glasgow Centre EVA Approved
Macklin Motors Nissan Glasgow Centre achieves Electric Vehicle Approved Status (EVA).
20:15 27 January 2020
Glasgow-based Mackline Motors Nissan Centre has become one of the first dealerships in Scotland to gain Electric Vehicle Approved Status (EVA).
Created by the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA), the scheme aims to enhance dealerships’ understanding of electric vehicles (EV) to ensure customers receive the best advice when buying an EV. It is endorsed by the Energy Saving Trust (EST) and the Government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles.
The requirement to quality includes getting employees to complete EV awareness training course and ensure that they have a solid understanding of all electric and hybrid model variants. They must also complete a comprehensive training in EV maintenance and repair.
EV Stephen Clarke, sales executive at Macklin Motors Nissan Glasgow Central who is the on-site EV ambassador, said: "We are very proud to be one of the first dealerships to achieve this important accreditation.
"The demand for electric vehicles is growing, and the technology is different from a petrol or diesel car and customers are often uncertain as to what is the best option for them. The Government’s ‘Road to Zero’ strategy aims to phase out new petrol and diesel cars by 2040. This scheme makes sure that dealerships are prepared for the EV era and equipped with the right knowledge to assist customers.
"Customers can be re-assured that at Macklin Motors Nissan Glasgow Central they will receive the very best advice and support when buying an electric vehicle."
