A new consumer-orientated website offering impartial credit card advice has been launched today by the UK's payment and clearing service, APACS.
Choosingandusing.com dispenses practical advice about how consumers can affordably borrow money on their cards and manage existing debts.
The comprehensive site also draws attention to the potential credit pitfalls and answers detailed enquires and general questions.
It will be subject to regular updates so that information on the full spectrum of credit products available in the UK is contained on the site.
Fully supported by the credit card industry, the website is part of a general drive in the financial world to promote a higher level of financial literacy among the UK's consumers.
APACS' director of communication Sandra Quinn said: "The UK has one of the most competitive credit card markets in the world, with about 1,500 different cards to choose from, so selecting the right one can be a time consuming process.
"With this in mind, we've launched the choosingandusing.com site to provide a handy one-stop-shop for consumers to help them make the best choices about using credit cards."
Mrs Quinn continued to add that the UK credit card industry is fully committed to increasing consumers' financial understanding in order to promote more sensible and risk-free borrowing.
