New Queue Technology Helps Passengers at Bradford Airport
Leeds Bradford Airport installs screens showing queue times.

Leeds Bradford Airport is now using screen displays to give passengers live updates as well as a glance at how long they can expect to queue at security.
The newly installed LCD screens show regular queue time and a Fast Track queue time in a bid to avoid queues from building up.
Many passengers who are travelling post-pandemic have taken to social media to complain about the length of time they stood in line to get through the security gates at airports, including Leeds Bradford.
Sharing a picture of the new screens on its Facebook page, Leeds Bradford Airport said: “We have some fancy new technology here at the airport. When you arrive you’ll now be able to see LIVE how long the wait queues are for both security lanes.
“The times shown on the screens are the estimated time taken from the end of the queue to the time you exit the security area. This INCLUDES the time it takes to complete the security process, re-pack your bags and exit the security zone.”
Meanwhile, the GMB union is calling for an immediate increase in the hourly rate of pay for security workers. They have threatened to walk out at "the end of August" unless a "meaningful" offer to increase their pay is made.
Airport bosses confirmed that they have "engaged openly and cooperatively with GMB throughout the pandemic. Chief executive Vincent Hodder said: "We remain committed to working with GMB and our staff to reach an agreement and thereby avoid unnecessary strike action.”
