A forthcoming $60million jet will end arguments as to who will get the window seat because there won’t be any windows for passengers. The new supersonic jet, which is designed to significantly cut travel time, boasts an entire cabin wall screen that can be turned into a giant window. Passengers can easily snap panoramic images or even watch a movie on the walls.
The Spike Aerospace 2-512 promises to cut flight times in half, which means that travel from New York to London will just be three hours.
The company said: 'There are several reasons for removing the windows from the cabin.”
'It has long been known that the windows cause significant challenges in designing and constructing an aircraft fuselage. They require additional structural support, add to the parts count and add weight to the aircraft. But until recently, it has not been possible to do without them.
'With the micro-cameras and flat displays now available, Spike Aerospace can eliminate the structural issues with windows and reduce the aircraft weight. In addition, the very smooth exterior skin will reduce the drag normally caused by having windows.'
‘The supersonic jet will let you do more, faster’.
