Following a diving accident eight years ago that left him paralyzed from the shoulders down, Arbaugh found himself devoid of sensation or movement below the injury. However, with the Neuralink implant, he now enjoys newfound autonomy, effortlessly navigating his computer using only his thoughts.
During a recent live stream event, Arbaugh demonstrated the implant's capabilities, controlling a mouse cursor on his computer with remarkable precision. Despite the challenges posed by his paralysis, he seamlessly engaged in activities like playing chess, previously daunting tasks made feasible through Neuralink's cutting-edge technology.
The implant functions by deciphering brain signals and converting them into remote commands via Bluetooth, empowering users like Arbaugh to interact with electronic devices effortlessly. Initially attempting to move his hands, a reflex he's lost due to his condition, Arbaugh soon adapted, likening the experience to wielding the Force, as depicted in Star Wars.
