Spennymoor Town Council has invited Netomnia to attend their council meeting to get an explanation as to why the broadband company has been sending notifications about installing telecoms poles to provide fibre broadband to residents in the area.
The firm was asked to make a presentation on the work it is undertaking and answer any queries or questions. On its website, the full fibre network builder says they are working on reaching a million residential and business premises by 2024 as they work towards becoming a national infrastructure provider.
A council spokesperson said: “It should be noted that the installation of the poles is deemed to be ‘permitted development’ which in effect means that no individual or organisation can object to them.
“However, if you have any concerns, queries or questions you are welcome to attend the meeting which will be held at 6.45pm in the Main Hall of the Town Hall.
“If you cannot attend you can contact the Town Hall on 01388-815276 and have your concerns, queries or questions noted so that the chair of the meeting can put this to Netomnia on your behalf.
“The meeting will be livestreamed to Youtube and details of the link will be available on the Town Council website.”
